NEXT-GENERATION CARDIOVASCULAR DEVICES
Preserving the lumen after cardiovascular intervention.
Mission: MAXLumen® is developing a locally delivered therapy designed to address the inflammation and pathological cardiovascular remodeling that leads to restenosis following angioplasty.
Occluded Artery
Narrowed artery caused by plaque buildup.
Angioplasty
Balloon insertion and expansion to open the artery.
Blood Flow Restored
Angioplasty reopens the narrowed artery and restores blood flow.
Vascular Response
The treated vessel responds through inflammation and tissue remodeling.
Restenosis
Excessive healing can narrow the lumen again and compromise the benefit of the procedure.
Occluded Artery
Narrowed artery caused by plaque buildup.
Angioplasty
Balloon insertion and expansion, followed by stent implantation to reopen the blocked artery.
Blood Flow Restored
Angioplasty reopens the narrowed artery and restores blood flow.
Vascular Response
The treated vessel responds through inflammation and tissue remodeling.
Restenosis
Excessive inflammation triggers an abnormal healing response that can re-narrow the artery, limiting the long-term success of angioplasty.
THE CHALLENGE
Opening the artery is only the first step.
OUR APPROACH
Using a novel anti-inflammatory & anti-fibrotic oxysterol-coated balloon.
MAXLumen is developing a locally delivered therapy designed to act directly at the treatment site, when the artery is already being accessed during angioplasty.
Deliver
The therapeutic agent is transferred locally to the vessel wall during balloon angioplasty.
Calm
Early therapeutic action is designed to reduce inflammation and abnormal vascular remodeling following the procedure.
Control
Sustained anti-proliferative action is designed to limit excessive tissue growth and help preserve the restored lumen.
Oxy210: targeting the biological drivers of restenosis
Oxy210 is designed to suppress inflammatory and pro-fibrotic signaling while promoting vascular healing. By locally delivering Oxy210 to the vessel wall during angioplasty, MAXLumen aims to reduce pathological remodeling and help preserve the restored lumen.
